The inspiration behind this brand came during an extended water fast in February 2021. Halfway through the fast, our Founder woke up at 5:30 am, sat upright in bed and announced "I am going to make my own body lotion". Driven by this divine inspiration, she leapt out of bed, ran to her kitchen, and began mixing any oils she could find. Despite never having created a product from scratch before, the process felt natural.
The realisation
Shortly after mixing the oils, she realised a solid base was needed for the oils. Her research led her to shea butter, and she discovered that not all shea butter is created equal. She found a company that supports hard-working rural women from Ghana by providing natural, cruelty-free, chemical-free, handcrafted ingredients. This discovery was a perfect fit for her vision, and Laydidee's Body Butter Moisturiser was born.
